Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team from Police Post Mirbazar during patrolling near Sumo Stand Bumthan, arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohd Mubarak S/o Sukar Ali R/o JJ Colony, Bawana, Delhi. Stating that during research, 10 grams of heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 177/2025, under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund besides initiating further investigations.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112 and cooperate in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
