DDC Kulgam inspects flood-hit areas of Qaimoh, Yaripora & Frisal

Athar Assures complete restoration of essential services,support to affected families
Kulgam : District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan Thursday conducted an extensive tour of the severely affected areas in Qaimoh Yaripora and Frisal tehsils to assess post flood situation.
DDC, accompanied by ADC Kulgam, Viqar Ahmad Giri; ACR, ACD, Engineers of PWD, Jal Shakti, PDD and other officials, visited different affected low lying areas and essential infrastructure installation that suffered damages due to the heavy rains and floods.
He commenced the tour from Batpora Nowpora areas of tehsil Yaripora and Frisal where he inspected the post floods situation including the houses of people that had got inundated due rains by back flow of Sunman canal.
DDC directed the concerned officers to provide all assistance to the affected residents for removal of the remaining silt and muck from the area.
Afterwards, DDC along with the team of officers, visited the water logged areas of Nowbal, Kharpora, Wanpora of Yaripora and Frisal tehsils.
On the directions of DDC, FCS&CA department distributed free ration among the flood affected families on the spot.
At Gandbal Yaripora, DDC interacted with the locals, and was informed by the residents about the ample support they received from Revenue, Municipality and Police administration for removing the silt and muck accumulated in the lanes and houses.
He further said the district administration has provided immediate relief, and an assessment process is underway to provide compensation for damages to private property under SDRF nor “The administration and government stands in solidarity with the victims of the heavy rains and floods and will provide all assistance for their rehabilitation,” he added.
Later, DDC visited Shemsipora, Shirpora and Redwani areas, and directed the concerned officials of the Jal Shakti department to restore drinking water supply to its full capacity at the earliest so that public may feel a sigh of relief.
