Udhampur : To finalize the necessary arrangements in connection with ensuing Eid-Milad- Un Nabi, a meeting of the District Officers was held Wednesday under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh; IAS Probationer Seerat Baji; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Umesh Shan and other District Officers besides representatives from civil society attended the meeting.
Detailed discussions were held on the arrangements for the auspicious day, especially the availability of drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, provision of First Aid, Fire safety, availability of quality consumable items and a check on overpricing, besides proper sanitation in the city.
The DC directed the concerned departments to take measures to ensure adequate water supply, First Aid, uninterrupted power supply, security arrangements and cleanliness in the district.
The Municipal authorities were directed to conduct special cleanliness and sanitation drives in the towns.
To keep a check on the rates and quality of the eatables, a team of officers was constituted to conduct frequent inspection of the market.
The Chief Medical officer was directed to keep available Medicare facility at the venues of congregations and special prayers. The District Police was asked to deploy adequate police personnel at traffic jam prone places of the town besides ensuring traffic regulation by the Traffic police.
The representatives of market organizations were directed to prominently display the approved rate lists of eatables in the shops.
