Says, “State of Art construction project has made Dargah the most beautiful shrine of India”

Srinagar : Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board on Wednesday inaugurated the completed Mega Construction & Beautification Project of Dargah Hazratbal, marking the culmination of months of dedicated efforts.
The event was emotionally charged, with Andrabi expressing her gratitude and joy during the inauguration, which was attended by Waqf Board members and prominent religious scholars. The project, initiated last year, involved extensive renovations, including the rebuilding and plastering of the shrine’s inner structure, utilizing local heritage crafts to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Key upgrades included the installation of a new digital electric system, complete air conditioning, and a modern sound system. The interiors were adorned with pure gold carvings, khatamband, papier machie, pinjrakari, calligraphy, and glass art, all meticulously designed to create a stunning environment. Notably, magnificent chandeliers featuring engraved Quranic verses further elevated the shrine’s grandeur. The Noor-Khana area of the shrine received special attention, transforming it into a visually captivating space. Dr. Andrabi personally supervised the construction and beautification efforts, ensuring high standards throughout the project. The inauguration was celebrated with Naat-Khwani and Darood-Khwani, contributing to a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. In her remarks to the media, Dr. Andrabi expressed her pride in the project, describing it as a dream come true and a significant enhancement to the shrine, especially ahead of the Milad celebrations. She emphasized the commitment of the Waqf Board to continue improving infrastructure and development projects to better serve devotees. Following the inauguration, a small function showcased a documentary film detailing the Mega Project, with addresses from Dr. Andrabi and other dignitaries, who acknowledged the collective efforts that made this transformation possible.
