Srinagar : In response to ongoing adverse weather conditions, Police in Srinagar implemented a comprehensive response mechanism in collaboration with the District Administration that was aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
Police teams have been strategically deployed across the city to tackle weather-related challenges, including assisting stranded individuals in low-lying and waterlogged areas. Efforts include coordinating with civil departments for effective dewatering and sanitation, supporting Traffic Police in managing congested routes, and diverting vehicles from flooded zones. The Police Control Room (PCR) and dedicated helpline numbers are available for prompt responses to emergency calls. Citizens experiencing weather-related emergencies are encouraged to utilize these helplines or contact District Police Officers directly. Additionally, the police advise the public to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and to report incidents such as waterlogging, fallen trees, or electrical hazards to the nearest Police Station or the PCR. Police has appealed people to Cooperate with field staff and adhere to official advisories for their own safety during these challenging weather conditions.
