Apni Party Chief Expresses concern over takeover of land that served as a playing field for the youth for decades
Srinagar: Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, President Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party on Tuesday raised significant concerns regarding the takeover of a long-standing playground in Rawathpora, Baghat Barzulla, by a government department. This area has historically served as a recreational space for the youth from Rawathpora and surrounding localities.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Bukhari highlighted that construction work is set to commence on this land, which has led to disappointment among the local community, particularly the younger population. In his appeal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Bukhari emphasized the importance of preserving this land for sports and recreational activities, framing his request as a matter of public interest rather than political affiliation. He underscored the critical need for such facilities, especially in light of the rising issues of drug abuse among youth, advocating for the development of the playground into a vibrant hub for sporting activities. Bukhari expressed trust in the Chief Minister’s ability to take necessary actions to protect and enhance this community resource.
