New Delhi | Sept , 3 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the Indian government’s commitment to combating Naxalism, stating that the administration will not cease efforts until all Naxalites are either surrendered, captured, or eliminated.
Home Minister declared three pronged strategy to eliminate naxalism during a meeting in New Delhi with personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Chhattisgarh Police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), and Cobra, who were recognized for their success in ‘Operation Black Forest’ on Karreguttalu hill.
Shah praised the bravery of the security forces involved in this significant anti-Naxal operation, describing it as a historic achievement in the fight against Naxalism. He emphasized the government’s goal of making India free from Naxal influence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The operation was noted for its challenges, including extreme conditions and the threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), yet the forces successfully destroyed a Naxalite base camp and disrupted their supply chain.
Highlighting the detrimental impact of Naxalism on underdeveloped regions, Shah pointed out that Naxalites have hindered access to essential services like education and healthcare. He noted that anti-Naxal operations have positively transformed the lives of approximately 6.5 crore people in affected areas. Shah set a target for the complete eradication of Naxalism by March 31, 2026, and mentioned ongoing efforts to support security personnel who have suffered injuries during these operations.
