New Delhi | Sept, 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed leaders of INDIA bloc, particularly Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, calling them “namdaars,” implying they are privileged individuals disconnected from the struggles of the poor. He emphasized that these leaders, born into wealth, cannot comprehend the hardships faced by underprivileged families. Modi condemned derogatory remarks made during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, asserting that the Congress party has historically resisted the advancement of backward communities.
He praised the role of women in Bihar for their significant contribution to defeating the RJD, stating that their efforts have brought the state out of darkness. Modi expressed deep concern over abusive comments directed at his late mother, framing them as an affront to all mothers in India. He highlighted the emotional pain such insults cause, particularly to women, and reiterated his commitment to serving the nation’s women, inspired by his mother’s sacrifices.
This is not the first instance of Modi using the “Naamdaar”-“Kaamdaar” rhetoric, which he has employed in previous election campaigns to contrast the privileged elite with hardworking individuals. He has consistently accused the Congress and other opposition parties of corruption and of undermining the dignity of the working class. Modi’s remarks reflect a broader strategy to galvanize support by appealing to the sentiments of the common people while criticizing the perceived elitism of his political opponents.
