Srinagar: Police in Anantnag district on Friday conducted a significant operation to destroy wild bhang (cannabis) cultivation drive in collaboration with the Excise Department.
The initiative was led by the Station House Officer of Anantnag Police Station and the In-charge of Police Post Khanaba, targeting the areas of Batengoo and Khanabal. Approximately 20 kanals of wild bhang were eradicated during this operation, which is part of a broader anti-drug campaign by the Jammu and Kashmir Police aimed at eliminating narcotics from the community and fostering a drug-free environment. The local community has expressed appreciation for the efforts of the J&K Police in addressing the drug issue. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reaffirmed its commitment to continue such operations in the future , appealing therein peoplr to cooperate with it by reporting any illegal activities related to drug cultivation.
