Awantipora : The Department of Architecture at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is set to host its inaugural architecture festival, Nairang-e-Tameer, from September 2 to 4, 2025.
The festival’s theme, “Rooted Futures: Design for All,” highlights the importance of inclusive and sustainable design practices while celebrating cultural and architectural diversity. The three-day event will commence with an Architecture Conclave featuring prominent experts from across India who will engage in lectures and discussions. The second day will include an Entrepreneurial Forum with a panel discussion on architectural practice, followed by an exhibition showcasing works from local architects, invited professionals, and students from IUST and other architecture and design schools. This day will also feature a networking event aimed at fostering connections among students, educators, and industry practitioners. The final day will be dedicated to student workshops and competitions, providing practical learning experiences. The festival will conclude with a cultural program and a closing ceremony, marking the end of this significant initiative. Nairang-e-Tameer aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue, highlight creative talent, and strengthen connections between academia, professional practice, and the community.
