Doda : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Harvinder Singh conducted an extensive visit to the rain and flash flood-affected areas of Sub-Divisions Thathri and Gandoh Friday to assess the damage, interact with affected residents and oversee the ongoing relief and restoration operations.
At NH-244 Doda-Kishtwar near Jangalwar Nallah and several flood-impacted localities in Thathri town, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the damaged infrastructure, including washed-out road segments and affected residential properties. During the visit, he engaged with numerous local residents, listening to their concerns regarding loss of property and disruption of essential services like electricity and water supply. He assured them of the administration’s firm commitment to provide all necessary support.
The DC also reviewed the situation along the severely damaged Khara–Malanoo and Kahara–Tanta roads. He instructed officials to expedite restoration work to ensure early resumption of road connectivity in these critical areas.
In Sub-Division Gandoh, the Deputy Commissioner visited Malik Pura to inspect a damaged residential structure and took stock of the situation. He emphasized that timely support is being extended to the affected families. He also reviewed the condition of the damaged roads leading from Malik Pura to Manoo, Chilly Pain and Gali Bhatoli and assured that restoration is progressing swiftly.
The DC further visited the Gandoh–Jai road and several other rain-affected sites in Kahara and Gandoh areas. He issued clear directives to all concerned departments to mobilize resources on a war footing to restore road connectivity, power, water supply and other essential services.
“The administration stands in solidarity with the affected communities. We are prioritizing restoration efforts to ensure minimal disruption to the lives of residents,” said DC Harvinder Singh.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Anil Kumar, SDM Gandoh, SDM Thathri, ACD, Tehsildars, BDOs, officers from the police department and other concerned Officers and officials.
