Kupwara: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikanth Suse, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad convened a meeting here Friday to review arrangements made for the celebrations of Eid Milad- un-Nabi (SAW) on Sep-5.
Addressing the meeting, ADC stressed upon all the officers to be more active and responsive on ground, work with added zeal and enthusiasm, and ensure availability of all essential amenities to the people during the festival days.
ADC instructed concerned officers for providing all requisite facilities including safe drinking water, sanitation, medical care facilities, uninterrupted power supply, adequate transport facilities and parking places to the devotees.
CMO Kupwara was directed to deploy medical teams at Shahwali Muqam shrine where large congregations in view of Eid Milad- un-Nabi (SAW) and Friday following are expected, similarly the Fire and Emergency department was directed to deploy fire tenders.
Regarding sanitation, ACP Kupwara, EO MC Kupwara and EO MC Handwara were directed to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation in and around prominent religious places and market places in Kupwara, Handwara, besides conducting cleanliness drives in all villages involving locals.
Regarding market checking, ADC directed the concerned officers of civil and police departments to intensify the market inspections in towns, tehsil headquarters and block headquarters of the district and put strict vigil on profiteering, hoarding and other unfair trade activities.
In addition, ARTO Kupwara and DySP Traffic were directed to deploy more traffic police personnel in Kupwara town and ensure better transport facilities and route plans across the district besides special service to and fro from Kupwara/Handwara to Hazratbal.
Gulzar Ahmad also reviewed availability of food supply/essential commodities, security and other relevant arrangements.
Meeting was attended by ASP Kupwara, Tehsildars, DySP Handwara and other concerned officers.
