Srinagar : Police, in collaboration with Forest officials on Thursday seized a Tata Mobile vehicle without a number plate in the Qalamabad area of Handwara.
The vehicle was found to be loaded with seven illegally obtained Deodar logs. The authorities arrested the individual involved in the illegal timber smuggling at the scene and have registered a case at the Police Station Qalamabad, initiating an investigation into the matter. Police in a statement issued here on Thursday emphasized its commitment to take strict action against all individuals engaged in timber smuggling and other illegal activities, highlighting efforts to protect the environment and natural resources.
