The launch of ‘e-VITARA’, Suzuki’s first global strategic Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) by PM Modi marks a significant milestone as India becomes Suzuki’s global manufacturing hub for electric vehicles. With plans to export these Made-in-India BEVs to over one hundred countries, including advanced markets like Europe and Japan. Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated two key projects at the Suzuki Motor plant, reinforcing India’s position as a leader in green mobility and supporting the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

In a further step towards self-reliance in green energy, Modi announced the local production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery plant in Gujarat, a joint venture involving Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki. This development is expected to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities, with over eighty percent of the battery value now produced within India. On a separate note, PM Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple development projects worth Rs 5,400 crores at Khodaldham ground in Ahmedabad. During his visit, he expressed condolences for the lives lost due to recent cloudbursts and heavy rains across the country, acknowledging the challenges posed by natural disasters. He emphasized the ongoing relief and rescue efforts by the central and state governments in response to the severe weather conditions affecting various regions, including Gujarat.
