Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-

  1. Aug 23 | LG Sinha Felicitates CIPS Award Winners in Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday felicitated the winners of the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS) Awards at a ceremony in Srinagar. The awards recognise transformative initiatives in governance aimed at rapid social and economic progress. LG Sinha said the recognition would inspire others to become agents of change.
  2. Aug 22 | CM Omar Inaugurates Girls’ Hostel at Sainik School, Nagrota: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the 56th Raising Day of Sainik School, Nagrota, where he inaugurated the newly constructed ‘TRIVENI’ Girls’ Hostel. Commending the institution, Omar said the school has played a vital role in nurturing discipline, leadership and excellence among youth.
  3. Aug 22 | LG Sinha Calls For Innovation In Governance: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday underlined the need to nurture excellence and innovation in governance for building a “Viksit Jammu Kashmir.” He said modern practices must be adopted to ensure inclusivity, transparency and accountability in administration.
  4. Aug 21 | Khelo India Water Sports Festival Opens At Dal Lake: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Khelo India Water Sports Festival at Dal Lake, Srinagar, on Wednesday. Over 800 athletes from 28 States/UTs are participating in the national event. LG Sinha said the festival would project J&K as the Water Sports Capital of India.
  5. Aug 21 | CM Omar Says “Sports Festival Boosts Tourism In J&K”: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also attended the inaugural session of the Khelo India Water Sports Festival in Srinagar. He said the event marks a new chapter in promoting sports and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
  6. Aug 21 | CM Omar Reviews Cloudburst Relief in Kishtwar, Kathua: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting to review relief and rehabilitation measures for people affected by recent cloudbursts in Kishtwar and Kathua. He directed speedy assistance, restoration of essential services and long-term measures to safeguard vulnerable areas.
  7. Aug 20 | LG Sinha Inaugurates Admin Block, Amphitheatre At CUK: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Administrative Block and Amphitheatre at Central University of Kashmir. He urged students and academicians to contribute to nation-building, stressing that India is poised for significant growth towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
  8. Aug 21 | CM Omar Condoles Samba Road Mishap Victims: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the tragic bus accident in Samba, which claimed one life and left several Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims injured. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured all possible assistance.
  9. Aug 19 | LG Sinha Addresses Foundation Day of SMVD University : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered the inaugural address at the 22nd Foundation Day of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). He lauded the institution’s journey into an educational hub of excellence, nurturing young minds and transforming lives.
  10. Aug 19 | CM Omar Reviews Capex Budget, Welfare Schemes: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting to review the District Capex Budget 2025-26, CDF Scheme, revenue generation and welfare-linked financial inclusion. He directed officials to prioritise grassroots development, improve revenue realisation and ensure welfare schemes reach deserving beneficiaries.
