Ramban: District Administration Ramban has issued a precautionary advisory in response to a weather alert from the India Meteorological Department, predicting intense rainfall and the potential for cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, and mudslides in Jammu & Kashmir from August 23 to August 27, 2025.
The district administration has appealed people to avoid areas near nallahs, riverbanks, and other flood-prone locations, while also being advised to prepare emergency supplies and stay informed through official weather updates. Residents in vulnerable areas should identify safer locations and coordinate with local authorities for relocation if necessary. All relevant departments, including Revenue, PWD, Mechanical Engineering, and Health & Medical, have been instructed to maintain high alert status and ensure their field staff are ready to assist as needed. In the event of school closures due to adverse weather, Zonal Education Officers are required to notify the Chief Education Officer, who will then inform the Deputy Commissioner in advance. Tehsildars have been directed to report any incidents of loss of life or property caused by the weather conditions immediately.
