Jammu |: The Department of Linguistics and Literature at the School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Cluster University of Jammu, successfully hosted a Two-Day International Seminar titled ‘Text, Tongue, and Technology: The Changing Face of Humanities (T3)’ on August 21-22, 2025.
The event gathered over 80 scholars, researchers, and academicians from around the world to explore the intersections of language, literature, and technology. The valedictory session was led by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Sr. Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, who highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary dialogues in shaping the future of humanities and education. Guest of Honor, Prof. Umapati Dikshit from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, provided insightful reflections on the relationship between linguistic traditions and technological advancements. The seminar featured 13 plenary sessions and 14 academic sessions, with a comprehensive report presented by Dr. Reena Salaria, summarizing the key insights and discussions. Notable plenary speakers included Dr. Loic Renoud, Dr. Rahul Awasthi, Dr. Serhi Petrenko, Prof. Veena Gupta, Prof. Sushant Mishra, Dr. Om Prakash, and Prof. Kavita Rastogi, who addressed global advancements in technology and their impact on language and culture. Discussions during the seminar covered a range of topics, including digital archives, language preservation technologies, innovations in pedagogy, and ethical challenges in the digital humanities.
