Srinagar | : Police in Baramulla on Tuesday said that it has solved a Masjid theft case by arresting two accused involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 15th August Police Station Kunzer received a complaint from one Abdul Waseem Sheikh (Lambardar) of Pandithpora Payeen Kunzer, stating therein further that during the intervening night of 13th and 14th August unidentified people had stolen the copper steamer from Masjid Shareef Pandithpora.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 85/2025 was registered under relevant sections of law besides initiating further investigations Police in its statement further said during the investigation two accused identified as Mohd Eya Kalimim, also known as Ramzan, and Mohd Haneef Sheikh, both residents of District Malda, West Bengal were arrested besides which a stolen steamer, valued at approximately ₹1.5 lakh was recovered based on inputs provided by the detained suspects.
Police in its statement furthermore said that further investigation is going on efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the commission of this crime. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to safety and security of the people, appealing them therein to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help eliminate anti-social elements from the society.
