ClUJ Concludes Anti-Ragging Week with Valedictory Function at SPMR College of Commerce

Jammu|:  The Valedictory Function of Anti-Ragging Week, held from August 12 to 18, 2025, at Government SPMR College of Commerce, was organized by Cluster University of Jammu.

The event featured Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, the Vice Chancellor, as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Ankur Mahajan, Registrar, as the Guest of Honour. This week-long initiative aimed to raise awareness against ragging through various student competitions, including Slogan Writing, Essay Writing, Street Play, Photography, Poster Making, and Symposium, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across constituent colleges. Notable prize winners included Taniya Sharma, Aditi Angral, and Ridham from SPMR College of Commerce in Slogan Writing; Mufiza Chaudhary from GCW Gandhi Nagar in Essay Writing; Aakash Katoch from MAM College in Street Play; Shaliza Singh from GCW Gandhi Nagar in Photography; and Sonakshi from SPMR College of Commerce in Poster Making. The Symposium recognized contributions from students across multiple colleges, highlighting the collaborative effort against ragging.

Prof. D.S. Manhas, Dean Student Welfare, led the program and received commendation for engaging youth in social responsibility. Prof. Chandrasekar underscored the necessity of educating young learners about the dangers of ragging and promoting a safe campus environment. He announced that all participants would be recognized as Ambassadors of Anti-Ragging and awarded certificates for their dedication. Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal of SPMR College of Commerce, praised the students’ proactive involvement and encouraged the maintenance of peace and inclusivity on campuses. The event concluded with a detailed report of activities presented by Dr. Shubra Jamwal, Assistant Dean Student Welfare, and was anchored by Dr. Deepshikha Sharma. The gathering included various dignitaries, such as Deans and Principals from affiliated colleges, and ended with applause for the winners and a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Rajni Sharma.
