Srinagar: Thirteen officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been conferred with the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2025, in recognition of their dedication, commitment and professional excellence.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the awardees from J&K Police are: Mohammed Yousuf Choudhary (SP), Mohammad Aslam (SP), Mohammad Aslam Choudhary (DySP), Mir Imtiyaz Hussain (DySP), Rajinder Singh (Inspector), Mohammad Ayoub Lone (SI), Ashok Kumar (HC), Ramesh Kumar (Constable), Ghulam Nabi Bhat (HC), Manzoor Ahmad (SgCT), Kamaljeet Singh (SgCT), Shabir Ahmad Mir (Constable), and Raj Kumar (Constable).
As per the MHA data, this year the Ministry conferred 635 MSMs nationwide in the Police Service category, alongside 226 Gallantry Medals (GM) and 89 President’s Medals for Distinguished Service (PSM).
Police officials described the recognition as a tribute to the officers’ years of dedicated service in one of the country’s most demanding policing environments.
Pertinently, Kashmir Zone Police congratulated all awardees, noting that “their exemplary work and commitment to duty set a benchmark for the force.”
