Ganderbal | : The Department of Economics at the Central University of Kashmir on Thursday hosted the Deeksharambh–Student Induction Programme, themed “Building Connections, Inspiring Futures—Let’s Get to Know Each Other.”
The event aimed to welcome new M.A. Economics students and foster a sense of community within the academic environment. Dr. Masroor Ahmad, Associate Professor and Head of the Department, emphasized the institution’s core values of academic excellence, integrity, and lifelong learning, encouraging students to actively participate in their academic journey. Dr. Tasleem Araf, Assistant Professor, highlighted the department’s recent achievements, including significant research contributions and successful alumni placements in esteemed institutions and organizations. He also introduced students to the university’s infrastructure, encompassing classrooms, laboratories, and other academic facilities. Dr. Tosib Alam, Assistant Professor and Academic Coordinator, provided an overview of the Master’s programme syllabus, detailing core and elective courses, the academic calendar, and assessment timelines, while also discussing academic flexibility options. Additionally, Dr. Khursheed Hussain, Assistant Professor, guided students through the examination registration process and introduced the Academic Bank of Credit system, which enhances academic mobility. Dr. Jainendra Kumar Verma, Assistant Professor, outlined the university’s Anti-Ragging Policy, Equal Opportunity initiatives, and Anti-Discriminatory guidelines, reinforcing the commitment to an inclusive and secure learning environment.
