Poonch | :  In a display of patriotism and unity, District Administration Poonch, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma, Tuesday organised a five-kilometre human chain as part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign 2025.

The event commenced from the iconic SK Bridge, where Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Shafket Hussain Batt, ADDC Pankaj Magotra, senior district officers and police officers, along with enthusiastic students, flagged off the proceedings by proudly waving a long stretch of the national flag.

Stretching from SK Bridge to Village Darela, the human chain spanned both sides of the road, forming a sight of saffron, white and green. Over 5,000 participants — including officers and employees of the District Administration, police personnel, school children, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers — came together to form this symbolic chain of solidarity.

Each participant held the tricolour high, turning the entire route into a corridor of national pride. The event not only showcased the spirit of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav but also served as a unifying moment for the people of Poonch, reinforcing the message of unity, patriotism and community participation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner commended the collective effort of the people of Poonch in making the event a grand success. He emphasised that such initiatives strengthen the bond between citizens and the nation, especially as India celebrates its rich legacy of freedom and progress.

The human chain concluded at Village Darela with the singing of patriotic songs, echoing through the hills of Poonch, leaving behind a memory of unity and pride.
