Poonch | : Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma Tuesday chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the progress of developmental works undertaken under the Aspirational District and Aspirational Blocks Programme of the Government of India.
During the review, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the current status of key performance indicators in Aspirational Block Mankote and Aspirational Block Balakote across multiple sectors including health & nutrition, education, agriculture & allied services, basic infrastructure, drinking water, sanitation and social development.
The DC emphasized strict adherence to programme guidelines and directed that data be regularly updated on the official portals to reflect accurate and timely progress.
Deputy Commissioner instructed the Chief Education Officer to engage closely with school heads in the aspirational blocks, underlining the need to improve the transition rate of school-going children within these areas.
He also urged all concerned officers to intensify efforts in sectors showing gaps and take immediate corrective measures to elevate performance indicators and achieve the set targets.
Stressing the importance of resource optimization, the DC called for focused investments in the modernization and holistic development of aspirational blocks.
