Jammu| : Cluster University of Jammu hosted an award distribution ceremony to honor winners of the Pre-Event Activities of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP), aimed at engaging youth in nation-building.
The initiative, guided by Vice Chancellor Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, included various events such as a MY Bharat Registration Drive, anti-drug pledge drives, awareness workshops, and sessions on government initiatives like PMKVY 4.0 and Start-Up India. Over 600 students committed to a drug-free lifestyle, and numerous creative competitions were held, showcasing civic engagement and national development. The ceremony recognized outstanding student performances across various competitions, with notable winners from institutions like M.A.M. College, School of Sciences, and GCW Gandhinagar. Cultural performances, including a Guard of Honour by NCC cadets and a skit on drug awareness, enriched the event. Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar praised student participation and reiterated the university’s commitment to youth empowerment, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 as articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Guest Sh. Shantmanu, IAS, emphasized the government’s strategies for sustainable growth and urged students to focus on their studies and reject drugs. Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Aijaz Bashir discussed the transformative impact of NEP 2020 and the government’s flexible education initiatives. The event, coordinated by the Office of the Dean Students Welfare and the Directorate of Extension and Outreach, successfully engaged over 1,800 students through 25+ events from July to August 2025. The ceremony concluded with a Viksit Bharat Pledge, reinforcing a collective commitment to a developed, drug-free, and united India. The event was attended by dignitaries, faculty, and students, culminating in a spirited chorus of “Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!” to celebrate national unity and the future of India.
