DC B’pora reviews Independence Day arrangements, visits venue

Bandipora | :  To review preparations for the forthcoming Independence Day-2025 celebrations in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, Saturday chaired a meeting at the Mini Secretariat, here.

The meeting focused on ensuring comprehensive planning and inter-departmental coordination for a vibrant and well-organized celebration, reflecting the spirit of unity and patriotism.

Detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, cultural programmes, venue readiness, installation of the Public Address System, medical facilities, fire tenders, uninterrupted water and power supply, and public participation activities.

On the occasion, DC stressed the importance of active involvement from all departments to make the event memorable, and directed the KPDCL to ensure illumination of key buildings, bridges, and public spaces. Executive Officer, Municipal Council, was asked to maintain cleanliness and sanitation at the venues.

Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Harmeet Singh Mehta, assured robust security measures for all venues and urged departments to share details of panchayats and other locations well in advance to facilitate deployment of security personnel.

It was informed that contingents from JKP, JKAP, IRP, Home Guard, JKP Border Battalion, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC, and school children will participate in the march past.

Later, DC accompanied by SSP Bandipora and ADC Bandipora besides other district officers visited S.K. Stadium Bandipora, the main venue for the Independence Day celebrations, to take stock of on-ground arrangements.

She inspected the parade ground, stage, and seating arrangements, and issued instructions for timely completion of all works to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

The meeting was attended by SSP Bandipora, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, ACR Bandipora, DPO, SDMs, Tehsildars, ACD and other senior officers of the district administration.
