Srinagar: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, on Friday officially flagged off a group of 85 students from District Ganderbal on a week-long Bharat Darshan Tour. The educational tour is an initiative by the J&K Police to expose local youth to the diverse culture and history of the country.
An impressive flag-off ceremony was held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Ganderbal. The students were flagged off by SSP Poswal, who was accompanied by DySP DAR DPL Ganderbal, Nazir Ahmad, and other senior police officers. Interacting with the students, who hail from various parts of the district, SSP Poswal emphasized the tour’s primary objective: to help the youth understand India’s unity in diversity. He encouraged the students to use this opportunity to enrich their knowledge by visiting historical sites and monuments. He further stated that the tour is part of an effort by the J&K Police to provide youth with exposure to tourist spots, historical places, and industrial units. The SSP advised the students to take full advantage of the tour, collect memories for life, and imbibe the greatness of the country. He wished them a safe, fun-filled, and life-changing journey.
During their tour, the students will visit the cities of Mumbai and New Delhi. The itinerary includes city tours with visits to various historical sites, monuments, and parks. All arrangements, including to and fro air tickets, boarding, and lodging in AC hotels, and transportation in AC coaches for sightseeing, are being provided by the J&K Police. Each student has also been given a kit containing a customized tracksuit, a pair of shoes, a cap, and a carry bag. A dedicated guide will assist the group, highlighting the significance of the historical spots to make the trip both educational and informative.
