DC Doda chairs meeting to finalise Independence Day 2025 arrangements

Doda | :  Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh (IAS), Thursday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the DC Office Complex to finalise the arrangements for Independence Day 2025 across the district.

The DC informed that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium Doda, where the National Flag will be unfurled with full ceremonial honours. Arrangements discussed included seating, stage setup, sanitation, Shehnai Vadan, cultural performances and a public address system. The District Information Officer was instructed to ensure timely setup of all sound syste

A virtual interaction was held with ADC Bhaderwah and SDMs of Thathri, Assar and Gandoh. The DC instructed them to make systematic arrangements in their subdivisions. Tehsildars and BDOs were directed to organise flag hoisting ceremonies in their areas with public participation. Special emphasis was placed on hoisting the National Flag at every Panchayat, especially at Amrit Sarovars, under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Tricolour hoisting at 300 Sheela Palakams was also directed.

The DC reviewed security, traffic regulation, cultural programmes, health services and rehearsals. Departments were instructed to submit action plans promptly and coordinate effectively. Tasks were allocated, including stage setup by PWD (R&B), floral decoration by Floriculture Department, seating by ADC and ACR, and illumination of buildings including Ganpat Bridge by the Municipal Committee. The Health Department will ensure first aid, and Fire and Emergency Services will deploy vehicles.

SSP presented the security plan and assured robust arrangements inside the stadium. DySP Traffic was asked to regulate traffic effectively. The full dress rehearsal will be held on AUGUST 13 at the Sports Stadium.

The meeting was attended by SSP Doda, ADC, ADDC, ACD, ACP, CRPF and IRP officers, PWD and Jal Shakti engineers, Chief Medical and Education Officers, and officers from Youth Services & Sports, Municipal Committee, NHIDCL, FCS&CA and other departments.
