Srinagar |: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar organized a significant Tiranga Rally on its campus to celebrate the spirit of patriotism ahead of India’s 79th Independence Day.

The event, aimed at fostering national pride and unity among students and staff, was inaugurated by Prof. Roohi Naaz, the Incharge Director, alongside Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman. Over 1,000 participants, including deans, faculty, research scholars, non-teaching staff, and students, took part in the rally, which featured the carrying of the national flag and chanting of patriotic slogans. The procession commenced at the administrative block and traversed various parts of the campus, concluding at the fountain park. Prof. Roohi Naaz emphasized that the rally served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and reflected the institute’s respect for the nation and its values. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman highlighted the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’s goal of reconnecting with Indian identity and fostering civic duty and national consciousness among the youth. The Tiranga Rally is part of a series of activities planned by NIT Srinagar on Independence Day including cultural programs, patriotic song competitions, debates, and awareness drives to underscore the importance of India’s freedom struggle and constitutional values.
