Frequent server crashes, failed transactions spark outrage among consumers

Srinagar : From failed UPI payments at shops to being stranded without access to their own money, customers of Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s mPAY app are fuming.
“JK Bank should stop pretending to be a tech-savvy bank. It is better for them to shut the app once for all,” said Irfan Ahmad, a Srinagar resident, who was embarrassed at a local shop when he bought groceries and the JK Bank services crashed suddenly.
He said that he was forced to return the items to the shopkeeper.
Pertinently, the JK Bank mPAY mobile banking application, meant to make digital transactions seamless, has now become infamous across the Valley for doing the opposite due to constant crashes, failure to load and repeated server errors.
Sameer, a University student, said this is not just an inconvenience anymore but “a digital disgrace.” Sameer said he missed a registration deadline due to failed transactions. “Why launch a service if you can’t even maintain it properly?” he asked.
Notably, the issue is not new. Users have been complaining for a long time about the app’s poor reliability.
Meanwhile, local shopkeepers, students, employees and even elderly pensioners have echoed the same grievance, saying “you can never rely on JK Bank’s digital services when you need them the most.”
Despite the rising anger, JK Bank has not issued any official statement or timeline for fixes. While the bank earlier updated the mPAY app interface, users say the backend remains as broken as ever.
When trying to open the application, it shows a message: ‘JK Bank mPAY Delight Plus—unable to connect with servers, please try again.’
