DC B’gam chairs preparatory meeting for Har Ghar Tiranga campaign-2025

DC Directs Janbhagidari , vibrant implementation of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

Budgam | :  In view of the upcoming Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, 2025 under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a preparatory meeting was convened Friday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, here in the conference hall of DC office, Budgam.

The meeting was aimed at reviewing preparedness, mobilizing inter-departmental coordination, and issuing detailed instructions for the smooth and impactful execution of the campaign across the district.

As per the National Implementation Committee (NIC) directives issued on July 24, 2025, the campaign will run from 2nd to 15th August 2025 in three structured phases, focusing on grassroots participation, cultural unity, and national pride.

Under Phase I (2nd–8th August), Tiranga-themed decorations shall be prepared in schools besides Art and Rangoli competitions, Rakhi-making workshops etc. Also Tiranga Weaves and Threads shall be prepared showcasing traditional crafts.

Similarly, under Phase II which will commence from 9th and culminates on 12th August, Tiranga Mahotsav comprising Mela and Concert shall be held, besides display and sale of local Tiranga-themed products, organization of Tiranga Rallies, Cycle/Bike Yatraas, and lighting/decor of markets, Selfie booths to encourage mass participation via the national portal website, ie, www.harghartiranga.com

Also, Phase III from 13th–15th August will focus on Flag hoisting ceremonies at all government, institutional, and public places, mass upload of ‘Selfies with Tiranga’ by citizens etc.

On the occasion, DC emphasised that Har Ghar Tiranga is not merely a symbolic gesture, but a national movement that fosters unity, respect for the Tricolour, and a deep sense of patriotism among the citizens.

He directed all concerned departments and field functionaries to ensure active janbhagidari through inclusive programs at every level.

Dr Bilal stressed for strict adherence to flag code and sensitise the public about its respectful use. He directed officers for facilitation of dedicated selfie booths and digital uploads to the national portal.

He nominated ADC Budgam as overall nodal officer of the events in the district and also directed SDMs, ACD, and EOs of municipalities to look after the events in their respective jurisdictions.

DC further stated, “This is an opportunity for every household to become a proud participant in the nation-building narrative. We must make this campaign a mass movement in its true spirit.”

Dr Bilal said that the district administration will ensure close monitoring of the campaign through designated nodal officers, while on-ground implementation will be regularly inspected in real time to ensure effective execution. Daily progress will be reviewed to ensure 100% coverage of activities and visibility in both urban and rural areas of the district, he stated.

On the occasion, SSP Budgam also apprised of the campaign framework and assured adequate security arrangements during Tiranga rallies, mega events, and public gatherings throughout the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Budgam, Nikhil Borkar; ADC, GM DIC, ACR, ACD, Principals of all Government Degree Colleges of Budgam, Dy. CEO, DEPO, Principals of all Higher Secondary Schools, and ZEOs, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, District Information Officer Budgam, District Informatics Officer (NIC) Budgam, all BDOs, and representatives from the Culture department, NRLM, handicraft & handlooms and other concerned officials of the district.
