Srinagar | : Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari at a party event on Wednesday commended security forces for neutralizing the terrorists responsible for the recent killing of tourists in Pahalgam.
Addressing the party event Bukhari called upon Union Home Minister Amit Shah to release over two thousand individuals detained on mere suspicion following the attack, arguing that their continued detention is unjustified. Bukhari emphasized the need to uphold the dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the suffering they endure due to cross-border violence. Welcoming new members, including Dr. Harbakash Singh, Bukhari reiterated that the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir’s issues lies with New Delhi, a stance he claims is now being acknowledged by traditional political parties. He criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for its diminished influence and shifting positions, contrasting its past claims of long-term struggle with its current conciliatory approach towards the government. Bukhari expressed disappointment in the ruling National Conference’s performance, despite its majority support, for failing to advocate effectively for the people’s interests. Dr. Harbakash Singh, in his address, expressed gratitude to Bukhari and highlighted the pressing issues faced by the Tral constituency, reinforcing the Apni Party’s commitment to serving the public.
