2nd J&K UT Taekwondo Championship 2025 concludes at Doda, DC Harvinder Singh felicitates Winners

Doda | :  The 2nd J&K UT Taekwondo Championship 2025 concluded here the other day at the Indoor Sports Hall.

Organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Doda and co-organized by the Game On Foundation, the event was held under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association and J&K Sports Council as part of the My Youth My Pride initiative.

The championship was led by Junaid Ali Khan (President, Taekwondo Association Doda) and Burhan Ud Din Khan (Secretary, Taekwondo Association Doda), with Game On Foundation managing technical arrangements and volunteer coordination.

The closing ceremony was graced by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh as the Chief Guest, and SSP, Sandeep Mehta, as Guest of Honor.

Special guests included Dr. Subuh Ahmed Shad (Tehsildar), Rajesh Kotwal (Manager, Indoor Sports Stadium Doda), and Yasir Wani (Executive Officer, MC).

In his address, the DC applauded the organizers for hosting such a prestigious event in Chenab Valley and emphasized the importance of promoting sports among the youth. He also felicitated the medalists and coaches with trophies and certificates.

District Doda was declared the Overall Winner, with District Kathua as Runner-up and District Udhampur as Second Runner-up. Active Participation Awards went to Districts of Jammu, Budgam, and Poonch, while Best Sportsmanship Spirit Awards were given to Districts Samba, Reasi, and Doda.

The matches were officiated by a skilled panel of referees headed by  Vinod Grewal, supported by national and senior referees from across the Union Territory.

Burhan Ud Din Khan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, expressed heartfelt thanks to. Nuzhat Gul (Secretary, J&K Sports Council) for her unwavering support in promoting Taekwondo across Jammu and Kashmir. The event concluded on a high note, with a collective commitment to encouraging sportsmanship, discipline, and excellence among the youth.
