Srinagar |: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today hailed prime minister Narendra Modi’s new initiative, Operation Mahadev” to pin down the Pakistan sponsored terrorists.

In a statement issued here on Monday Chugh commended the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police for their successful execution of Operation Mahadev near Mahadev Peak in Srinagar, which led to the elimination of three foreign terrorists, including the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack. He underscored that this operation is part of the Modi Government’s broader anti-terror strategy, which addresses threats posed by the Pakistan ISI. He also highlighted Operation Sindoor, which involved precision strikes on nine terror launchpads within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir, targeting camps associated with groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. This operation resulted in the neutralization of over 100 terrorists, showcasing India’s strategic capabilities. In response to ongoing parliamentary discussions and critical remarks from opposition leaders regarding the Pahalgam attack, Chugh criticized figures such as P. Chidambaram and Gaurav Gogoi for casting doubt on the origins of the terrorists, labeling their comments as undermining the efforts of the armed forces and intelligence agencies. He asserted that the era of impunity in Jammu & Kashmir has ended and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to dismantling separatist and terrorist networks decisively. Chugh expressed admiration for the bravery of Indian security forces and reiterated the government’s dedication to safeguarding significant religious sites, including Shri Harmandir Sahib, Vaishno Devi, and the Amarnath Yatra. He conveyed a strong message to terror sponsors, emphasizing that the government prioritizes neutralization over negotiation.
