Prog on Promotion of IPM Practices to keep Pesticide Residue at Lowest ebb held  at Panzinara

Srinagar | : Continuing its efforts of doorstep delivery of latest technical guidance to Farming community, KVK  Srinagar in collaboration with RCRQ Analysis, FoH SKUAST-K,  organised  one day orientation program on “Promotion of IPM Practices to keep Pesticide Residue at Lowest ebb” Saturday at PanzinaraB, Block Qamarwari  to   sensitise the participating farmers  & fruit growers on safe and judicious use pesticides under the project MPNRL GoI.

The program aimed to address alarming  concerns of health hazards like cancer and heart attacks arising due to  indiscriminate and excessive use of pesticides and  inorganic chemical in their crop protection management practices.

Prof. Dr Malik Mukhtar on the occasion  underscored  the  need for adoption of need  based  precision  plant protection  measures viz-a viz  use  safety gear to minimize the residual  toxicity of the  produce and simultaneously   safeguarding the health of sprayers.

The orientation  prog was attended by Head KVK Dr Simnani, team of scientists, extension functionaries from deptt of Agriculture besides experts & locals.
