Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
1. LG Sinha Addresses Youth At Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Prog: On July 24, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Program at IUST, a platform aimed at bridging youth and policymakers. Using the MY Bharat platform, the initiative fosters dialogue and leadership among youth, preparing them to contribute to India’s development by 2047.
2. CM Chairs Welfare Board Meeting For Construction Workers: On July 25, Chief Minister chaired the J&K Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board meeting, praising efforts for worker welfare. He urged officials to ensure transparent, timely benefit delivery, widen outreach, and simplify processes to include all eligible workers.
3. LG Reviews Amarnath Yatra Facilities: On July 22, LG Sinha visited Nunwan and Chandanwari Base Camps, interacting with pilgrims, officials, and service providers. With over 3,35,000 devotees participating, he lauded the dedication ensuring a smooth and memorable pilgrimage for Baba Barfani’s followers.
4. CM Reviews Hydroelectric, Renewable Energy Projects: On July 23, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting to assess progress on key hydroelectric and renewable energy projects in J&K, emphasizing faster implementation to harness the region’s power potential for sustainable growth.
5. LG Launches Web Portal For Terror Victim Families: On July 23, LG Sinha launched a dedicated web portal to assist terror victim families in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to streamline relief distribution, compassionate appointments, and other support services.
6. CM Reviews Public Services Guarantee Act Implementation: On July 23, the Chief Minister led a comprehensive review of the Public Services Guarantee Act’s implementation, reaffirming the government’s commitment to timely, transparent, and accountable delivery of essential citizen services.
7. CM Attends One-Day Conference On NEP 2025: On July 22, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the NEP 2025 conference at SKICC, themed ‘Empowering Education Leaders for Holistic Education’, alongside Education Minister Sakina Itoo. He reiterated dedication to an inclusive, innovative, and future-ready education system in J&K.
8. TASK Delegation Meets Chief Minister On Tourism Revival: On July 21, a delegation from the Tourism Alliance of Kashmir (TASK) met the Chief Minister to discuss initiatives for tourism revival and preparations for the upcoming Travel and Tourism Fair in Ahmedabad.
