Srinagar | : National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, in collaboration with its Alumni Association, is readying to host the grand Alumni reunion, “SANGAM – 2025,” on October 10 and 11, 2025.
The event aims to unite former students from various regions and countries for two days filled with celebrations, expert talks, mentorship opportunities, cultural programs, and branch-specific interactions between alumni and current students. Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia emphasized the importance of alumni as ambassadors of the institute, highlighting that their success reflects the strength of NIT Srinagar’s academic and cultural foundation. He noted that SANGAM 2025 will celebrate past achievements while fostering future collaboration and mentorship. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman echoed this sentiment, stating that the alumni community is a vital asset that can significantly influence current students’ journeys. The planning for SANGAM 2025 was discussed in detail during two Alumni Association meetings held in June and July 2025, where key members and representatives finalized the event schedule and budget. Prof. M.A. Shah, Dean of Alumni and International Affairs, announced the event alongside other association members, expressing gratitude for the support received from the institute’s leadership. In addition to the reunion, NIT Srinagar will launch its first annual alumni bulletin, “Bridges & Beacons – A Chronicle of NIT Srinagar Alumni,” during the event. This publication will feature contributions from both alumni and current students, including articles and personal stories, with a submission deadline extended to July 30, 2025. To assist students in securing campus placements, the Dean’s office has initiated the Hand Holding Abhiyan (HHA), encouraging alumni to provide mentorship and job referrals. Another initiative, the Eminent Alumni Lecture Series (EALS), will facilitate department-wise interactions between alumni and students throughout the academic year. The institute has also introduced the Support Alma Mater (SAM) initiative, inviting alumni to contribute in various ways, such as donating educational materials or providing financial assistance to underprivileged students. The Dean’s office is actively seeking alumni participation in these initiatives and encourages feedback and suggestions. These efforts are part of NIT Srinagar’s broader vision to cultivate a vibrant and engaged alumni network that plays a crucial role in the institute’s growth and the future of its students. The Alumni Association is also inviting potential sponsors to support various events, including reunions and cultural shows, further enhancing the alumni experience.
