Srinagar | : To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Police in Handwara on Tuesday organized a debate competition at Boys Higher Secondary School.
The event focused on Patel’s leadership and ideology, celebrating his legacy as the Iron Man of India. The competition attracted enthusiastic participation from numerous students, along with a significant audience that included teachers, civil society members, and police officials. Participants passionately articulated their perspectives on Sardar Patel’s influential role during the Indian freedom struggle and his critical contributions to the integration of princely states post-independence. Speakers emphasized Patel’s core values of unity, discipline, and national integration, while also highlighting the leadership qualities he inspired. The initiative served as a platform for students to develop their public speaking and critical thinking skills, while also encouraging the audience to reflect on ideals of national service and integrity. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes to participants and winners, with senior officers from District Police Handwara commending the students for their insightful contributions and expressing gratitude to the school authorities for their support in making the event successful.
