Jammu | : The University of Jammu (UoJ) has achieved national recognition by participating in the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)-Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) initiative, launched by the Government of India.
The program aims to foster collaborations between research institutions (HUBs) and academic institutions (SPOKEs). UoJ collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi as a SPOKE in a competitive landscape that included 22 HUB institutions and over 100 SPOKE institutions. In this national competition, UoJ was selected to receive funding as one of the 106 SPOKE institutions awarded research grants. This success is expected to enhance UoJ’s research capabilities through long-term collaborations, training for Ph.D. students and faculty at IIT Delhi, and capacity building initiatives. The project preparation was led by a committee under the guidance of Prof. Umesh Rai, the Vice Chancellor of UoJ, with significant contributions from various faculty members. The research focus areas for UoJ under the ANRF-PAIR scheme will include Environmental Sustainability, Photonics, and Energy Technologies. The university is set to commence its research and training activities in collaboration with IIT Delhi, aiming to strengthen the research skills of its scholars and faculty.
