Bandipora | : An awareness programme on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was Tuesday organised by Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Sumbal at Government Higher Secondary School, Shahgund.
The event was conducted under the supervision of the Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), (Pr. District & Session Judge) Bandipora, and under the joint guidance of the Secretary, DLSA Bandipora, and the Chairperson, TLSC Sumbal.
On the occasion, speakers delivered insightful lectures emphasizing the value, dignity, and equal rights of the girl child.
Highlighting Islamic teachings and moral values, the speakers called for an end to gender discrimination and urged society to treat girls with respect, equality, and love. They reiterated that girls are not a burden but a blessing, equally capable and deserving of all opportunities.
The programme concluded with a strong message of gender equality and the collective responsibility to protect, empower, and educate the girl child as a crucial step towards a just and progressive society.
