Samba | :   A one-day Sensitization Workshop on the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) was held  Saturday in the Conference Hall of DC Office Samba under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma.

The workshop was organized to generate awareness about vector-borne diseases and to strengthen coordination among key departments for effective implementation of NVBDCP in the district.

At the outset, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vidhi Bhatial welcomed the DC and all participating stakeholders. She provided a detailed overview of the status and ongoing initiatives under NVBDCP in the District.

The District Health Officer shared a comprehensive outline of the NVBDCP framework, while Dr. Suhani explained the pathophysiology of vector-borne diseases. Physician Dr. Himanshu elaborated on the clinical aspects and treatment protocols of the diseases such as malaria and dengue.

Appreciating the presentations, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for proactive and collaborative measures to curb the spread of vector-borne diseases. He directed all concerned departments to formulate effective prevention and control strategies, including the integration of vector control methods and community awareness campaigns into the district-level action plan.

The DC also stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination involving the health department, municipal bodies, ICDS, education department, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation of the programme across all zones.

The workshop aimed at enhancing district-level preparedness and response towards vector-borne diseases in line with national health objectives. It served as a platform to sensitize officials and medical professionals on various aspects of disease surveillance, management, and public engagement.

The event witnessed the participation of ADDC Samba Champa Devi Thakur, PO ICDS, CEO Education, CEO Municipality, District Nodal Officers, Zonal Medical Officers and other key officials.
