Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
1. LG Sinha’s Address At IIM Jammu Orientation Prog:
Srinagar: Addressing IIM Jammu’s Orientation Program this week LG Manoj Sinha encouraged students to become future business leaders driving inclusive growth and national development. He emphasized innovation and social responsibility.
2. LG Sinha Speaks On J&K’s Path To Peace: Speaking at a seminar on “J&K’s March Towards Peace” at Gandhi Smriti in New Delhi this week, LG Sinha said J&K is reclaiming its identity as a land of peace. He highlighted how youth are embracing Gandhian values and unity through education and civic engagement.
3. CM Omar Reviews Mubarak Mandi Restoration: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this week visited the historic Mubarak Mandi Complex to review ongoing restoration work. He emphasized preserving Jammu’s cultural heritage and ensuring timely project completion. He was accompanied by Advisor Nasir Sogami and MLA Yudhvir Sethi.
4. CM’s Visit To AIIMS Jammu, Disaster SOP Manual Released: CM Omar Abdullah this week praised the modern infrastructure of AIIMS Jammu, calling it a future centre of excellence in healthcare and research. He also launched the Disaster Management SOP Manual, strengthening disaster preparedness and mass casualty response.
5. LG Launches Sainik Sahayta Kendra for Serving Soldiers: LG Manoj Sinha this week launched the Sainik Sahayta Kendra, a single-window system to address civilian grievances of serving soldiers from J&K and CAPFs. It will facilitate coordination with civil and police authorities.
6. LG Sinha’s Meeting With PM Modi: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss key developmental and security issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
7. CM Launches Project 13 13 for Women’s Healthcare: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this week inaugurated Project 13 13 at National Hospital Jammu, a pioneering initiative to provide affordable and quality healthcare for women. He applauded the hospital’s inclusive approach and focus on accessible services.
8. CM Inaugurates Bone & Joint Hospital Block In Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this week inaugurated a new block at the Bone & Joint Hospital, Barzulla, calling it a key step in strengthening J&K’s specialized healthcare. He urged medical staff to deliver care with skill, compassion, and commitment.
9. CM Hails Cultural Unity At IIT Jammu Summer School: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this week interacted with participants of the IIT Jammu Summer School, lauding the initiative as a symbol of India’s unity in diversity. He encouraged young minds to embrace learning, collaboration, and cross-cultural understanding.
10. Govt HSS Gandhi Nagar Named After Late Kuldeep Badyal: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this week announced that Government HSS Gandhi Nagar will be renamed in honour of Late Kuldeep Kumar Badyal, paying tribute to his sacrifice and contribution to education in J&K. The CM also unveiled his statue on the school premises.
11. CM Attends SKIMS Medical College Annual Day: Chief Minister Omar felicitated the 2019 MBBS batch at SKIMS Medical College Annual Day. He praised the young doctors’ resilience and urged them to serve with dedication, empathy, and professionalism.
