Srinagar | : The Greenovator Incubation Foundation (GIF) at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the MSME Technology Development Centre (PPDC), an autonomous body under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The agreement is designed to collaboratively implement entrepreneurship and skill development programs aimed at youth and aspiring innovators. Under the MoU, both institutions will work together to create and deliver training programs, product development initiatives, prototyping projects, and incubation activities.

The partnership will utilize shared resources, technical expertise, and mentorship to support selected teams, providing them with co-working spaces, startup guidance, and pathways for commercialization. Additionally, the institutions will conduct quarterly reviews to monitor progress and facilitate resource exchange to enhance innovation and joint research and development efforts. The MoU also extends access to laboratories and technical facilities for unemployed youth and students from various institutions, promoting hands-on learning, skill acquisition, and early-stage venture development. The signing ceremony included key figures such as Mr. Shahid Abbas Mir, Dr. Ashwin Dhivakar, and other officials from both organizations. Director of NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting its potential to drive regional development and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering an innovation-led, entrepreneurship-driven environment. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman emphasized the importance of bridging academic knowledge with practical innovation, aiming to prepare students and local youth for both employment and leadership roles within the startup ecosystem.
