Srinagar | : Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, led a crucial meeting at the Directorate of Agriculture in Lalmandi Srinagar to discuss the establishment of a state-of-the-art Residual Analysis Laboratory.
The initiative is designed to enhance quality assurance and safety standards for agricultural produce throughout the Kashmir Valley. Key attendees included the Chief Engineer of the Mechanical and Hydraulic Engineering Department, the Assistant Executive Engineer, the Head of the Residual Analysis Lab at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, and senior officers from the Agriculture Department. The Director emphasized the laboratory’s vital role in analyzing pesticide residues, which is essential for promoting sustainable farming practices and ensuring consumer safety. He noted that the facility would empower farmers by providing precise data to enhance crop quality and meet both national and international standards. The Chief Engineer provided insights into the necessary infrastructure and technical specifications to ensure the laboratory meets modern analytical standards. Additionally, the Head of the Residual Analysis Lab at SKUAST-K discussed the integration of advanced technologies and research methodologies to bolster the region’s agricultural ecosystem.
