Women Bike Expedition flagged off to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas

Jammu | :  The MY Bharat Bikers Expedition to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas was Friday flagged off to Kargil here from Balidan Stambh Jammu.

A group of 26 Female bikers from Shakti Udghosh Foundation are participating in the Bike Rally to celebrate the valour of Indian Army during Operation Vijay in 1999 at Kargil and the Op Sindoor launched in May this year.

Among the dignitaries present at the flag off ceremony were Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kishtwar Shagun Parihar, State Director MY Bharat J&K Nisar Ahmed and Col M S Maan Dy Cdr.

Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director MY Bharat J&K appreciated the Shakti Udghosh Foundation and said that programs like these play a very important role in mobilizing youth in Nation Building activities. He assured full support of MY Bharat to the Bikers during the entire route. He further informed that a Mega Padyatra is being held on July 26 on the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas in Drass Kargil, with the participation of thousands of Youth.

Group Leader of the Bikers, Preeti Choudhary, while speaking on the occasion stated that the Bike Rally is a unique Tribute to the Sacrifices of the Gallant Soldiers of the Op Vijay. She further said that MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India has played a very important role in mobilizing the Youth along the entire route.

DYO MY Bharat Jammu Nitin Hangloo said that the event is an ode to the sacrifices of our valiant soldiers. He further said these types of programs are a unique way to engage the youth in Nation Building.

A painting competition was also organised on the occasion, witnessing participation of numerous MY Bharat Volunteers, who depicted the spirit of Patriotism on the canvas. The Indian Army played a significant role in organising the event by providing logistical assistance. The program was successfully managed by the volunteers of MY Bharat Jammu under the supervision of Anmol APA.
