Srinagar | : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered huge quantity of contraband substances recovered from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in a successful operation against drug trafficking a special police team, led by the Incharge Police Post Frisal and accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, raided a residential house belonging to one Wakeel Ahmad Dar in Frisal, Yaripora and during search seized 5.145 kilograms of grinded cannabis and 1.735 kilograms of poppy straw. Stating that the said accused was arrested and a case was registered under FIR No. 45/2025 at the Yaripora Police Station Police in its statement further said that an investigation currently underway, reiterating therein its commitment to combat drug-related issues and appealing people to report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking or abuse.
