Samba | : Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma Thursday chaired a meeting of line departments here in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review and finalize the necessary arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day–2025.
The meeting was informed that the main district-level function will be organized at Rani Suchet Singh Stadium, while similar commemorative functions shall be held at the Sub-Division, Tehsil, and Block levels under the supervision of the respective local administrations.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner impressed upon all district and sectoral officers to ensure their personal presence along with subordinate staff at their respective venues on Independence Day. He further laid emphasis on meticulous planning and inter-departmental coordination to ensure a smooth and dignified conduct of the celebrations.
A comprehensive discussion was held on all logistical aspects of the event including flag hoisting, ceremonial parade, cultural presentations, stage and seating arrangements, venue decoration, and refreshment logistics.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of foolproof security arrangements and directed the concerned departments to ensure the provision of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, first aid, and adequate transport and traffic regulation.
The illumination of prominent government buildings, deployment of fire tenders, and distribution of invitation cards also came under review during the meeting.
Responsibilities for specific arrangements were duly allocated to respective departments, while the already notified committees were instructed to monitor and expedite the execution of assigned tasks under their domains.
The meeting was attended by SSP Virender Singh Manhas; ADDC Champa Devi Thakur and other officers of the district administration.
