Srinagar|: Bharti Airtel has announced a partnership with Perplexity to provide a complimentary 12-month subscription to Perplexity Pro for its 360 million customers.
Perplexity is an AI-driven search and answer engine that enhances user experience by delivering real-time, accurate responses in a conversational format, moving beyond traditional web page listings. The free offering of Perplexity includes robust search capabilities, while the Pro version, typically priced at INR 17,000 annually, offers advanced features such as increased daily searches, access to sophisticated AI models like GPT 4.1 and Claude, deep research tools, image generation, and file analysis. This partnership marks Perplexity’s first collaboration with an Indian telecom provider, allowing Airtel users to access these benefits through the Airtel Thanks App. Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its potential to provide cutting-edge AI tools to millions of users at no additional cost. Aravind Srinivas, CEO and Cofounder of Perplexity, emphasized the initiative’s goal of making professional-grade AI accessible to a broader audience in India, including students, professionals, and homemakers.
