Awantipora | : The Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell (WEDC) at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) hosted an interactive session titled “Understanding Copyright: Creative Ownership and Legal Awareness.” This initiative is part of CIED-IUST’s efforts to enhance legal and entrepreneurial literacy among emerging women entrepreneurs, focusing on intellectual property rights (IPR) and the protection of original ideas.
Dr. Asifa Baba, Dean of Students, served as the resource person, providing valuable insights into copyright fundamentals, creative ownership, and related legal areas such as patents and trademarks. The session included an engaging Q&A segment that encouraged active participation from attendees. Prof. Parvez A. Mir, Director of CIED-IUST, emphasized the importance of understanding legal rights as a foundation for innovation and creative growth, highlighting the significance of such programs in their mission.
