Anantnag | In a bid to reach out to the last eligible mother, Poshan Mission (ICDS) Anantnag has launched special enrolment drive for identification and registration of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) beneficiaries across the district.
The mega drive aimed at saturation of the PMMVY started on July 15 and will culminate on July 31 in all the projects of the district.
During this targeted drive, on-spot registration facilities will be provided at designated Anganwadi Centres and other notified locations in a decentralised manner enabling swift enrolment of eligible pregnant ladies and lactating mothers. In addition, new eligible beneficiaries will be identified and enrolled through outreach initiatives and field verification by the concerned tea
CDPOs and Supervisors shall oversee and monitor the process for its smooth on ground implementation, the concerned authorities informed.
The objective of the scheme is to provide the cash benefit of Rs 5000 incentive for compensation of wage loss during the delivery of first child (irrespective of gender of the baby) and promote positive behaviour towards girl child by providing additional cash incentive of Rs 6000 for second (girl) child.
The prospective beneficiaries are urged to carry along necessary documents including Aadhaar card, bank account details, and maternal health records to the nearby AWC for expeditious registration allowing them to avail the scheme benefits.
