Srinagar | : Police on Saturday said that it has attached a residential property worth approximately ₹1 crore and 3 lakhs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Srinagar.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said the property in question is a two-story residential house owned by Mir Romaan, a known drug peddler linked to case FIR No.136/2024 under the NDPS Act. Police in its statement further said that the accused was targeting local youth for drug distribution and even the property was found to have been acquired through illegal drug trafficking proceeds during the course of investigation. Stating that the property has been attached under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, prohibiting any sale or transfer without prior approval from the relevant authority Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to combating drug abuse and appealed people to cooperate with it by sharing information related to drug trafficking, Stating therein further that public cooperation is must for maintaining a drug-free and safe environment in Srinagar.
